About LHY Powertrain
We – LHY Powertrain – develop, produce and globally supply modular drive systems consisting of hydraulics, power transmissions and electronics. As a leading technology provider in the field of high pressure hydraulics, the systems produced by us set the standard in terms of significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Our product range comprises hydraulic pumps and motors, valves, electronic controls and peripheral devices. We are a development partner and supplier of a number of reputable manufacturers of mobile work machinery, including construction, mining, agricultural, forestry and municipal utility machines, as well as manufacturers of industrial machinery.
Our company, which was founded in 1904, is based in Aschaffenburg, Germany. We employ approximately 1400 individuals working across four production sites in Germany, a fifth production site in China and at subsidiaries in Europe, the U.S., South America and China. We are represented in more than 50 countries by a strong network of around 80 sales and service partners.
Following the carve-out from Linde Material Handling in 2012, Weichai Power is our main shareholder with a 90 per cent stake. KION GROUP AG holds 10 per cent of LHY Powertrain.

Management

Liu Bin became CEO of LHY Powertrain in 2025. His responsibilities include Research & Development, Sales and Purchasing. Mr Liu started his career 18 years ago at WEICHAI Power, the parent company of LHY Powertrain. He has been with LHY since the acquisition in 2012.

Michael Kessler was appointed to the Executive Board of LHY Powertrain in 2021 and is Chief Operating Officer (COO). His responsibilities include the production division, administration and purchasing. Mr. Kessler joined the company in 2019 and previously headed the production division.
